Trustees

Leukaemia Care’s vision is that everyone affected by leukaemia should have access to the best possible diagnosis, information, advice, treatment and support.

We are currently looking for new members of our Board of Trustees to help guide us through the next stages of our development as we continue to grow our services for people living with leukaemia and those around them.

More details regarding the responsibilities of the role are included in the Trustee pack. If you have not been a Trustee before you are also advised to read The Charity Commission publication ‘The Essential Trustee’ which sets out the legal duties you would have as a Trustee.

However, the key motivation is that you really want to make a difference for the people we support, and that you think you are able to bring experience, expertise and passion to the organisation. If you can help us to help more people, and are willing to learn about the role and the work of our charity, we would love to hear from you and to discuss whether a Trustee role might be right for you.We are looking for more than one new trustee to replace some of the board’s specific experience and add new skills. We ensure we have a strong mix on our Board and are looking to maintain that good balance.

Our key priorities at this time are in the areas of:

  • Healthcare and nursing experience, especially in the cancer and blood cancer sector
  • Financial and/or Legal expertise, especially in the third sector
  • Marketing and commercial income generation

However, we are also keen to hear from anyone who feels they can add constructively to the work of our Board and wider team, especially if they have experience in embedding an excellent equality, diversity and inclusivity culture and practices within broad teams.

If you are interested in joining us, please read the Trustee pack which contains details of how and when to apply. More information on what we do and the impact we are making to people affected by leukaemia can be found in our 2024 Impact Report as well as by watching our BBC Lifeline Appeal video.
