Leukaemia Care’s Winter Appeal
As part of our Leukaemia Care Winter campaign, we invited our community to share their “winter wishes” — messages of gratitude and hope for others currently facing a leukaemia diagnosis. These heartfelt wishes have been displayed around Leukaemia Care HQ, transforming the building into a space of shared community strength and support.
We have been deeply moved by the outpouring of gift tags received, each one reflecting the profound impact our dedicated team has had on the lives of those affected by leukaemia. The messages of thanks highlight the significant role Leukaemia Care, alongside the wider healthcare community, plays in helping individuals navigate their journey with leukaemia. This incredible show of gratitude has been an emotional moment for our charity.
“We’ve been truly overwhelmed by the touching messages we’ve received,” said Georgina Grainger, Community & Individual Giving Manager at Leukaemia Care.
“These notes from individuals whose lives have been impacted by leukaemia serve as a powerful reminder of the importance of providing holistic support during such a challenging time. Our work goes beyond medical advice—it’s about offering the emotional and practical tools needed to help people rebuild their lives after a cancer diagnosis.”
“These heartfelt gift tags are made possible through generous donations, and thanks to the support from our Winter campaign, the funds raised will help us support over 50,000 people who we anticipate will turn to us for support in 2025 and beyond.”
In addition to these heartfelt messages, we were thrilled to collaborate with local artist Catt Standen, who wrapped Leukaemia HQ with her hand-drawn festive decorations and gifts. These beautiful artworks brought a festive spirit to our building, tying together the community’s warming messages of appreciation and symbolising that the greatest gifts this Christmas are the unwavering support and care provided by our charity and its dedicated team.
