Take on the London to Brighton Cycle Ride
Join #TeamLC and take on one of the UK’s most iconic cycling challenges. The London to Brighton Cycle Ride covers around 55 miles from Clapham Common in South London to the Brighton seafront, taking riders from the capital to the coast through beautiful countryside.
This unforgettable charity challenge is suitable for cyclists of all abilities. Whether you’re new to long-distance cycling or an experienced rider looking for a rewarding challenge, the London to Brighton route offers a fantastic sense of achievement.
The experience
After leaving London, the route heads south through quiet country lanes and picturesque villages before reaching the rolling hills of the South Downs. Along the way, you’ll pass places such as Mitcham, Banstead and Haywards Heath before tackling the ride’s most famous challenge: Ditchling Beacon, a mile-long climb that rewards riders with incredible views from the top.
Once you’ve conquered the climb, it’s mostly downhill towards the coast, where you’ll finish on Brighton’s seafront and celebrate completing this incredible cycling challenge.
Many riders complete the journey in around four to six hours, depending on pace and rest stops, making it a challenging but achievable goal for most cyclists with some training.
